Easter Jeep Safari - Moab 2000

Unbelievable! Our first year at the Red Rock 4 Wheeler's annual Easter Jeep Safari was fantastic. There were over 1900 vehicles registered, and estimated another 2000 were there unregistered. Quite the gathering of Jeeps, Broncos, Samurais, Scouts, Land Cruisers and homebuilts.
We took a little different approach. to showcase our Super 35 Kit, we took a brand new Jeep TJ Sport and did the following modifications: 1)installed our Super 35 Kit; 2) installed a set of BF Goodrich Tires 31x10.5-15 Radial Mud Terrain T/A KM (more on these trick tires later); 3) disconnected the sway bar. That's it! No lift at all!
The installation took about one hour. The stock 27 spline axles and open carrier were replaced with the Super 35 Kit 30 spline axles and Detroit Locker. Jeff Cummings at BF Goodrich Tires loaned us a set of prototype Radial Mud Terrain t/A KM's. These have a new compound and some slight changes to the tread design. They also feature a trick "bead protector" that had everyone saying "what a great idea!"
As you can see, we took on every trail we had time for in Moab. The Super 35 Kit provided the strength and traction we needed, and the Bf Goodrich Tires stuck like glue. We went on several 4+ (the highest rating for these trails) runs without getting stuck and with NO breakage! We had the least modified vehicle on the trails, but blew some of the "tricked out" vehicles away!
The magazine editors and other off-roaders were very impressed by the "stock" Jeep that took on Moab. We plan on now duplicating this Jeep and running the Rubicon, Moab again, and maybe even pre-run the Baja 500! Let's see what the limits are of a  stock TJ with axles, locker and tires!
The Moab Rim Trail. Severe penalties for the wrong set-up or picking a bad line. Here we are going up...and here is a Cherokee going, well, upside down.
Here is a typical Moab rock obstacle. Called "Bump Dump", it really tests your traction and drivetrain. We saw MANY broken parts here during the week.
Thanks again to: Red Rock 4 Wheelers;  Jeff Cummings, BF Goodrich Tires; Eric Shellenberger, 4 Wheel of Moab; EMAP Petersen's and McMullen Argus for the trail runs; Ramada Inn of Moab; Jason Scott for his fantastic driving and spotting; and all of Moab for their hospitality.
